Karen’s Amazing Apple Pie…YUM

3 lb bag of granny Smith apples (peeled and cut however you want but I cut into bite sized chunks)

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

3 TBSP all purpose flour

1-2 tsp cinnamon 

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1 TBSP lemon juice

1 TBSP butter

1/2 jar caramel butterscotch

In a small bowl, combine the sugars, flour and spices; set aside. In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice. Add sugar mixture; toss to coat.

Make sure to add cinnamon, brown sugar, and caramel over your eggwash on the crust 😉

Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Cover edge of crust with 2- to 3-inch wide strips of foil after first 15 to 20 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning. Cool on cooling rack at least 2 hours before serving (if you want it to set up right and not be runny)
